According to a Sportico analysis, McGregor earned $615 million in total over his career, placing him tied for No. 33 among the 50 highest-paid athletes of all time. Dale Earnhardt Jr. ($620 million) is ahead of McGregor, 34, by one slot, and is tied with Magic Johnson ($615 million). McGregor was the lone mixed martial artist to crack the top 50, with Floyd Mayweather coming in at No. 8 ($1.41 billion), and only seven fighters made the list, all boxers.
With a lifetime income of $3.3 billion, Michael Jordan came in first place. At $2.5 billion, Tiger Woods was the next highest earner.

According to the standards, it's right to assume that a significant amount, if not the majority, of McGregor's career earnings, have come from two main sources: a 2017 boxing spectacle with Mayweather and his Proper Twelve whiskey, which was introduced shortly after the Mayweather fight.
The projected 4.3 million pay-per-view viewers for Mayweather vs. McGregor gave the former UFC two-division champion his most lucrative fight-related compensation of roughly $100 million (Mayweather reportedly made about five times that). When he sold the majority of his ownership in Proper Twelve in April 2021, McGregor earned an estimated $150 million. He is still the brand's spokesperson.
